The problem

Every new agent, chatbot, or automation forces you to re-connect, re-ingest, and re-secure the same data. The result is repeated integration work, no reusable memory, and no shared permission model — data your AI still can't reach reliably.

How Spine works

Three steps to a reusable context layer

01

Connect

Point Spine at Google Drive, a website, a Postgres database, or upload files. Read-only, encrypted, permission-scoped.

02

Spine unifies

It ingests, chunks, and indexes everything into one searchable knowledge layer — async, idempotent, isolated per workspace.

03

Any agent queries

Expose it over a REST API and a hosted MCP server. Your agents — and Claude or ChatGPT directly — get cited answers.

What you get

Infrastructure, not another assistant

Spine is the layer underneath your agents — the part you'd otherwise rebuild for every project.

One API, two shapes

A unified REST gateway for your apps and a hosted MCP server per workspace for agent harnesses. Same data, either door.

Instant answers, with citations

Ask useful questions the moment a source is connected. Every answer traces back to the exact chunk it came from.

One permission model

Workspace isolation with row-level security, hashed API keys, and encrypted credentials. Scope every agent's reach — no data bleeds between tenants.

Token-shaped returns

Agent-facing responses serialize minimal-by-default with hard caps — so you spend context on thinking, not on plumbing.

Where this goes

The data layer today. The data and memory layer for every agent tomorrow.

Agents don't just need retrieval — they need durable, long-term memory. Spine already owns the vector, storage, and tenancy infrastructure to become the context and memory backend any agent plugs into.

For builders

Your agent, one connection away

Register Spine as an MCP server once. Every workspace source becomes a tool your agent can call — no per-project ingestion pipeline to build or babysit.

Questions

What people ask about Spine

What is Spine?

Spine is AI-ready data infrastructure. You connect your business data once — Google Drive, uploaded files, a website, or a Postgres database — and Spine exposes it to any AI agent, app, or workflow through a unified REST API and a hosted MCP server, returning answers that are cited back to the exact source.

How is Spine different from a RAG framework or a vector database?

Spine is managed infrastructure, not a library you assemble. It handles ingestion, chunking, embedding, multi-tenant isolation, permissions, and citations behind one API and one MCP server — so you don't rebuild that pipeline for every agent or project. A vector database is one component inside what Spine runs for you.

Does Spine work with Claude and ChatGPT?

Yes. Spine runs a hosted MCP (Model Context Protocol) server per workspace, so Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP-compatible agents can query your connected data directly, with citations — no per-project ingestion pipeline to build.

What data sources can Spine connect to?

At launch: Google Drive, file uploads, websites, and Postgres databases. A connector registry adds more — including GitHub, Airtable, calendars, and any generic REST or MCP source — without re-architecting.

How does Spine keep data secure and isolated?

Every tenant's data is workspace-isolated using Postgres row-level security. API keys are stored as hashes, connector credentials are encrypted at rest, and every agent's reach is permission-scoped, so no data bleeds between tenants.

How much does Spine cost?

Spine is in private beta with free early access via the waitlist. At launch it will offer a free tier plus paid plans, priced on a flat base with metered usage.
